Technology is advancing to make people’s lives better than they were before. The concept of induction heating is the foundation of induction heaters. You can cook food quickly and easily with the help of an induction heater. An induction heater has a temperature range of very low to very high, approximately 3000 degrees Celsius. The best feature is that you can set a timer for cooking, allowing you to save time and put it to better use.
It offers different modes of cooking like roti, stir fry, gravy, slow fry, manual, etc., through which cooking becomes easy. The leading companies in the sector include Philips, Prestige, Pigeon, etc.
Principal: What is induction heating?
Different types of heating methods are used for domestic and commercial purposes. Induction heating is one such method that is applied to heating materials. An electrically conductive material, such as metal, can be heated using the induction heating technique to change its physical characteristics without coming into direct contact with the conductor. The material is subjected to a constantly changing magnetic field, as a result of which it penetrates the substance and generates a circulating electric current known as eddy current. This eddy current circulates throughout the material, producing heat via joule heating. Heat is also generated as a result of hysteresis loss within magnetic parts. Magnetic materials like iron and other ferromagnetic substances have the characteristic property of offering electrical resistance to changing magnetic fields within the conductor. This resistance causes internal friction, which results in heat production.
Induction heating works on this principle. Induction heating is used in induction heaters for domestic applications. Along with this, it is used for forging, melting, drying, welding, and metallurgical processes.
Components used
An induction cooker consists of a motherboard, control panel, induction coil, 18-volt DC fan, heat sensor, heat sink, filter capacitor, bridge rectifier, IGBT, voltage regulator, and connecting wires.
The following is a brief description of the most important induction cooker spare parts.

3. Electronic spices 2200 watt copper induction coil
It is the most important part of induction cookers. This induction coil is responsible for initiating the heating process. When an alternating current is provided to the coil, it creates a magnetic field around it, and when conductive pots are placed on the coil, this magnetic field generates a large eddy current. Since the coil has a large number of turns, the bottom of the pot could be considered a single short turn. This forms a transformer at the bottom. These large currents produce heat through joule heating. The coil is made up of Litz wires to reduce the skin effects. Temperature sensors are located in the middle of the induction coil. This temperature sensor has two parts one is the thermal fuse, and the other is the Zener diode.

What are the error codes and their meanings in the induction cooker?
Different companies’ induction cookers show different error codes, and it becomes very difficult to go to the user manual to check their solutions. The error codes that occur in induction cookers are listed below, along with their solutions.
Error codes in Pigeon, Prestige, TCL, Glen, Electrolux, Padmini, Usha, Wipro, Softel, Faber, Butterfly, Maharaja, and Khaitan induction cookers (also applicable to Chinese brands)-
Error Codes | Solution |
E0 | A pot is not properly placed or it is not made up of the required material necessary for the induction cooker. |
E1 | The problem is related to the internal circuit of induction. Switch off that and try it after some time. |
E2 | The issues are concerned with temperature sensors. The temperature sensor is an open circuit or short circuit. If the problem remains for a long time, change the sensor. |
E3 | The voltage supplied is high. If you’re using a stabilizer, you can lower the voltage, or you can turn off the machine and restart it later. |
E4 | The supply voltage is low. Increase the voltage coming from the stabilizer, or else wait until the supply is right. |
E5 | The cook-top surface temperature of an induction cooker is very high. Do not leave hot liquids or containers on the cooker top after cooking. |
E6 | The internal circuit temperature has become high. This may be due to the blockage of the air vent. Remove any blockage and let the device cool for some time. |
E7 | The internal temperature sensor is not working properly. Bring an induction stove close to an electronics store or service facility. |
E8 | The use of magnetically charged pots prevents induction from working. |
What patents are related to induction cookers?
An invention’s use is protected by a patent, which is a privilege granted to the inventor. It grants the owner the legal right to prevent others from using, making, or selling an innovation for a limited time in exchange for publishing an enabling disclosure of the innovation.

Common queries and their answers
Q) What type of vessel should be used for an induction cooker?
Ans: For induction cookers, you need pots and pans made of steel, including stainless steel, and ferrous materials like iron and other metals. A flat bottom is preferred for pots and pans.
Q) Is induction cooking harmful to health?
Ans- Till now, no records have been found for this. Induction cooking is safe, fast, and efficient.
Q) Is the induction cooker noisy when cooking?
Ans- Some induction cookers make a small amount of noise, but don’t be concerned. It is due to the running of in-built cooling fans.
Q) How energy efficient are induction cookers?
Ans- Unlike gas burners, induction cookers do not waste energy because the energy provided to pots is fully distributed within the pots, resulting in focused heat.
Furthermore, according to research, their efficiency is 90%, whereas gas heating is 50% and radiant heating is 70%.
